SOUTH Pool’s popular and traditional church fete had another bumper year, taking place in glorious sunshine in the beautiful grounds of West Court.
Forced to move from its normal site, the Old Rectory, by the owners absence, fete organisers were grateful to Geoffrey and Carin Tantum for opening up their gardens for the event.
The fete is held each year in aid of the village’s Church of St Nicholas and St Cyriac, and vistors were once more generous in support of the historic building, helping raise more than £6,000.
The range of old-fashioned games went down very well with the crowd, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, helped along by ample refreshments including the top quality burgers provided by Charlie Baker from The Millbrook Inn.
Potter Bob Tee was also on hand, selling his work with proceeds going to the church.
The parochial church council gave special thanks to organiser Jonny Griffith, and all involved are looking forward to an even better fete next year.
