THE Quayside Judo Club weren’t put off by the bad weather as they put on a homemade cake stand last weekend.

Club members Julie Dunne, Sandra Westlake, Lewis Dunne and Jack Powlesland hosted the sale to raise money for the club and to attract new members.

A spokesman for Quayside Judo, called it a ‘great little club’ that is ‘having to struggle to survive’, hence all the hard work baking and hosting the cake stall.

The club runs sessions on Thursdays during term time, between 6pm and 8.45pm depending on your skills. Their coach and Sensei is Matthew Partridge who has won medals at the Heart of England competition, The Western Area Championships and Devon Championships.
