THE Quay Quilters presented Chernobyl Children’s Life Line with a cheque for £300.

The Quay Quilters, who meet on the first and third Tuesday of the month at the Methodist Church in Kingsbridge to socialise and sew quilts, raised the money for CCLL to support visits for children from Chernobyl to the South Hams.

CCLL provide support for children in the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and organise trips for them to the South Hams, giving them experiences outside of their normal lives and to help improve their health.

Members of the Quay Quilters have been supporters of the CCLL for many years and have ‘great pleasure’ in raising funds for the charity.

The Chernobyl Children’s Life Line are always in need of support and host families to welcome two children into their homes for two weeks between July 11 and August 7. They are also looking for a family who could host the Russian and English speaking leader who accompanies the children.
