KINGSBRIDGE Police have thanked four local men for assisting with an accident on Monday afternoon.
Police were called to an accident involving a motorbike at around 4pm near Loddiswell. The accident occurred on the B3196 between the turning for the South Devon Chilli Farm and Blackdown Rings.
Ambulance crews asked for the assistance of the Devon Air Ambulance but it was already tasked to another job so the NPAS police helicopter was volunteered. The injured biker was airlifted to Derriford Hospital with a suspected broken pelvis and head injuries.
PC Richard Loxton of Kingsbridge Police said: ‘Our sincere thanks go out to everybody who assisted us, whether it was directing traffic or carrying the stretcher to the helicopter. Chris Winzer and Ryan Daw from CW Engineering, Ian B, and Chris Hooper, plus the others who I didn’t get your names - thank you.’
