An escaped bull left the farm behind to take a leisurely stroll through an Ivybridge cul-de-sac.
Residents raised the alarm after spotting the animal in Trematon Drive at about 3pm on Sunday, August 11.
Taking a break from the country to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the town, the bull surprised onlookers with its unexpected arrival.
Witness Martin Stainer said: “The bull was definitely having a good mooch around looking for new pastures.
“The street was full of people, it’s not every day you see a bull roaming around outside your house.”
It emerged the animal had escaped from a nearby farm and was led back there by its owner.
Martin said: “The farmer looked very relieved to have found him but was clearly concerned about how close everyone was as he asked the police to push everyone further back.”
Ivybridge police confirmed the animal had returned safe and well.
