KINGSBRIDGE freemasons from the Duncombe Lodge have donated more than £3,000 to six local charities and organisation.
The society presented the money at their second annual charity presentation night, held at the Ashburton Arms in West Charleton last week.
The lodge meets ten times a year at their headquarters in Duncombe Street, and money is raised for charity by raffles and donations from members.
They also hold social functions including a dinner-dance, barbecue and Christmas party.
Each year, the lodge also elects a new worshipful master - the highest office within a masonic lodge.
This year’s worshipful master, Stuart Goode, presented cheques to Kingsbridge Beavers, Kingsbridge Food Bank, Start Circle of Friends, Kingsbridge Rest Room at Quay House, Kingsbridge Fulfilling Lives Centre - formerly Rope Walk and Children’s Hospice South West.
The masons rounded off the evening with a drink and a buffet.
