KINGSBRIDGE Cricket Club has secured funding for mobile covers for the pitch, just as the weather proves why they are needed.

The club have secured a £3,000 grant from the English Cricket Board after applying to them earlier in the year.

The covers will cost around £4,550-£5,000, so the club has to find the remaining amount and is looking for sponsorship to finance this. If you are interested in this please contact chairman Neal Peach on: 01548852513.

The club secretary has been busy in the winter and the club would also like to thank the David Shepherd cricket trust for a £500 grant towards junior cricket.

Indoor training is well under way with good numbers at both senior and junior training with the club entering its youngest league team so far this year at U10.

The club has again been accepted for the NatWest cricket force Jewsons Privilege Account, which will give the £350 towards materials for ground and pavilion upkeep.

Chairman Neal said: ‘All that needs to happen now is the weather to improve to allow the groundsman to begin essential works.’
