A COUPLE that met at Kingsbridge Community College got married at Deer Park Country House, surrounded by family and friends.
Holly Jade Tucker and Joseph David Lawrence met at KCC fifteen years ago and were friends for more than a decade before becoming a couple three years ago. They married on Valentine’s Day, Sunday, February 14.
Many of their wedding party were also ex-KCC students. Holly’s sister-in-law Alysa Tucker, nee Brown, her school friends Ellie McMullen, nee Brearey, and Sophie Brearey acted as Bridesmaids.
Joe chose school friend Tom Jacobs as his Best Man and Holly’s brother Joel acted as Usher on the day. Theo Tucker, Holly’s nephew and Joel and Alysa’s son, undertook Page Boy duties.
Holly’s parents, Rob and Mandy Tucker, Aveton Gifford, and Joe’s parents Tony and Barbara Laurence, Kingsbridge, were there to witness their children married by registrar Jane Discombe, Exeter. Holly’s father Robert walked her down the aisle and Joe’s sister Claire came all the way from Arizona, USA.
The wedding took place at Deer Park Country House in Honiton, with the bride being transported in a 1964 white Rolls Royce Silver Cloud, supplied by R Crispin while the bridesmaids rode in a 1975 Daimler Sovereign, driven by bridesmaid Sophie’s boyfriend Ben Humphrey.
The Kingsbridge Community College connection didn’t stop with the happy couple and the guests, as self-employed photographer Harry Burner took photographs of the day.
Holly’s mum Mandy made her stunning dress, while the suits were hired from Burtons. Wendy Short, Holly’s colleague Wendy Short made the cake and Susan’s Flower Shop in Crediton supplied the flowers, which Holly arranged herself.
The couple got engaged on Holly’s 29th birthday, Christmas Day 2014. Joe gave her one gold and white shoe and promised her the other when they got married; she wore them on the day.
They had a short mini-moon to Edinburgh after the wedding and are currently on their main honeymoon in Arizona, USA.
The couple are living in Morchard Bishop, near Crediton, where Holly works as the Assistant Head Teacher at Umberleigh Primary School and Joe works as an Area Manager Estate Agent for Beresford Residential, Brixton.
