Gary Edgecombe, of Camperdown Road, Salcombe, writes:

Regular readers of this page will be very familiar with the ongoing saga of parking tickets issued to our first responder Tim Hore.

Having spoken to both Devon county councillor Rufus Gilbert and Tim, I am satisfied that this matter has been resolved.

However, I am less than satisfied with the response I had from our local MP. Sarah Wollaston has a history of doing nothing when decisive action would have counted.

My mother waited for

well over two hours for an ambulance following a stroke – I wrote to our MP… and guess who did nothing?

I also wrote to her regarding the diabolical condition of our roads in Salcombe: no reply.

She has also been consulted on various planning issues, and yet again, no reply.

There is no mystery to this – we have a Tory MP and a Conservative council. I have no doubt that if Sarah had the opportunity to put the boot into the Labour Party, she would

do so. Tory MP and a Tory council? Say no more.

It might be an idea for Sarah to actually do her job rather than be photographed grinning for the cameras at yet another PR function.

I for one am getting more than a little tired of said MP’s inaction and excuses. Either sort it out… or go away.
