A team of hair stylists raised money for the month of October to go towards Breast Cancer Care UK.

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the staff at Uppercutz Hairdressing, Kingsbridge raised £1,557.63 through gathering and donating prizes for a grand draw and a last minute donation of £500.

Salon clients and members of the public were able to buy raffle tickets throughout the month, which went into a grand draw which was taken at the end of the month.

Salon owner Kelly Reeve said she’s been “overwhelmed” with the generosity of local businesses, clients and community who all donated to the cause.

She gave a shout out to the Uppercutz team for all their efforts and support for the charity. “This charity is an amazing charity and extremely close to many of our hearts. You have all been fantastic,” she said.

She also took the time to thank the people who provided that little bit of extra support. “Thank you to Rosanna Perry for baking over 100 cupcakes and to Katie Lethbridge for making the ribbon for decoration.”

At the time of going to print, Kelly also informed the Gazette that Uppercutz had received a last minute £500 donation from a kind woman who wishes only to be identified as Caroline’s mother.

As well as the salon, which donated pink platinum GHD stylers, a KMS goodie bag, and an Uppercutz voucher, Kelly also thanked the local businesses who donated prizes.
