Dartmouth’s streets were given a touch of 1950s Americana as the cast of DTC Youth Theatre’s Grease took to the town in costume for a special photoshoot.
The young performers took advantage of the “brilliant atmosphere” in town during Regatta week to pose for photographs around Dartmouth.
Photographer Claire Gillo captured the cast as they brought the Pink Ladies and T-Birds to the streets ahead of their production at The Flavel from October 9 to 11.
Amanda Corbett, Founder and Director of DTC Youth Theatre Group CIC, said: “Regatta week was absolutely buzzing, so it seemed the perfect opportunity to get some of our Grease cast into costume and take them out around Dartmouth for a photoshoot.
“They had an absolute ball, and Claire captured some wonderful moments. There was something quite funny about suddenly having Pink Ladies and T-Birds wandering around Dartmouth in the middle of Regatta!”

The youth theatre, which began in 2024, has previously staged productions including ‘Annie’ and ‘Shrek’, as well as taking part in Dartmouth’s music festival.
Amanda said the group’s latest production was particularly special because so many of its young performers have strong links to the town.
“I’m incredibly proud of these children,” she said. “They’re local children — many of them live in Dartmouth, go to school here and have grown up here — so there’s something particularly special about watching them step onto a proper theatre stage in their own town.”
Amanda said the theatre was about more than putting on a show, with children building confidence, friendships and memories along the way.
“You see children who may once have been too nervous to speak in front of other people suddenly standing under the lights, singing, dancing and performing,” she said. “That’s the part that means the most to me.”
The cast is now in the final weeks of rehearsals for ‘Grease Young@Part’, with four performances taking place at The Flavel between Friday, October 9 and Sunday, October 11.
Tickets are available directly through The Flavel.
