In reply to Tim Hailstone’s letter regarding Sarah Woolaston, he says she changed her mind after lies from the Leave campaigners, perhaps she didn’t notice project fear, but has said all along said that we should comply with the referendum result and leave the EU.
This was the point I was concerned about. We voted to leave the EU and be free to negotiate our own trade deals and as long as she supports this I have no problem with it.
With the mess the EU is making of trying to deal with US trade sanctions, this is even more important, I feel we would have already got an exemption from these had we been free of negotiate for ourselves, we are the closest natural ally to the US and can probably understand their frustration at having cut price steel dumped on them when the EU imposes sanctions on some of their steel products. The same has happened to us.
With the problems with the US , Italy and Spain, I think the last thing the 27 would want now is a no deal with the UK.
