The Estuary Masonic Lodge in Salcombe has donated £250 to the Kingsbridge Town Bowling Club in their centenary year.

Roger Kendall, charity steward at the Estuary Lodge, said: “When Estuary Masonic Lodge in Salcombe was approached for support for the bowling club, they immediately put it to the vote.

“The lodge members decided unanimously to donate £250 towards the Centenary celebrations as the club has been a such a large part of the community for one hundred years.”

Ray Ashby, current Master of Estuary Lodge, presented the cheque to Club Captain Keith Batson, Vice Captain David Thorne and the club Treasurer Marion Thorne.

The donation will go towards one of the many events to celebrate this milestone and also assist in spreading the word about this small but beautiful bowling club situated in Eastern Backway, next to Duncombe Park.

Members of Estuary Masonic Lodge who meet in Salcombe have also supported several other local causes including Salcombe Church of England Primary School, Kingsbridge Library, and “Downright Perfect” an organisation supporting individuals and families whose lives have been touched by Downs Syndrome.
