SALCOMBE Rainbows went on a visit to Kingsbridge Library last week in their pyjamas, and enjoyed having bedtime stories read to them.

Maria Johnson, the librarian at Kingsbridge Library, read the children stories, and joined the girls in wearing her pyjamas as she read.

The girls from the pre-school enjoyed the stories, particularly The Gruffalo’s Child by Julia Davidson.

Hazel Burkitt, brown owl said: ‘The girls thought it was really funny to wear their night clothes during the day.

‘The group were good listeners and their enjoyment of books shone through.

‘Afterward, we enjoyed sausage and chips in The Codfather, of course still in our pjs!

‘Thanks to helper Di Crocker for helping supervise the evening.’
