A NEW preschool group for parents and carers is starting in Dodbrooke Church called Chatterbox.
Sarah Morgan said: ‘Here at Dodbrooke Church we have noticed the huge volume of parents walking through the churchyard and up the road every school morning to take their children to school - many with younger children of preschool age.
‘So we’d like to invite them to Chatterbox – to come along for a cuppa and fun for the little ones in our newly refurbished Parish Hall!
‘As a single mum of two kids now aged 9 and 15 I do remember what is like to take one child to school dragging along a younger sibling behind especially if the weather is being particular unhelpful!
‘I know I would have loved an opportunity to make a pit stop on the way home to warm up, dry off and sit down for a cuppa to collect my thoughts while the kids play, especially if you are on your own.
‘This is one of the reasons why I am very much involved in the set up and running of Chatterbox and I will be there every fortnight having dropped my youngest at school in West Alvington and then dashed back down the hill to Dodbrooke.’
Chatterbox is for parents and carers with young children and is starting on Tuesday, February 7, between 8.45-10.15am, and will run very fortnight during term time.
Sarah is extending an open invitation to parents, carers and the under 5s, to have some tea and toast, a friendly listening ear and a chance to chat together while the children play. There will also be a craft and sing-a-long time and see stories.
No need to book, just drop in.
