Loddiswell Primary School pupils went into the school in the centre of the one-way system for the last time this morning.

A brand new school at the other end of the village has been built and the children will start their new term in their new school for the first time on April 16.

Carol Pengilly, the crossing guard, was handed a bunch of daffodils by one pupil as she will no longer be needed at the new school, although she will continue to work as the caretaker and lunchtime assistant.

Sue Jezard, executive headteacher, said that staff were now moving everything from the old site to the new site and children will start the new term in the brand new school.
