EAST Allington held a street party for more than 100 people on Sunday, June 12 to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.

The street party was arranged by the council, the Fortescue Arms, the village’s Community Shop and the Hall Committee.

Food was provided by the parishioners, co-ordinated by Lisa Denning, ably assisted by a team of several ladies.

The parish council presented all the children in the parish with a commemorative coin to celebrate the occasion.

The sun came out and the glorious weather made for a wonderful day.

Dean Login came with his vintage Fergie tractor and gave rides for the children throughout the day.

Mrs Doreen Higgin and Mrs Eileen Hall, both approaching their 90th birthdays, cut the celebration cake.
