A 38-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of woman in Dartmouth on Tuesday, October 6.

Luke Rigby, 38, of Newcomen Road, Dartmouth, is due to appear before Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, October 10, accused of the murder of 46-year-old Rebecca Grass.

Police and paramedics were called following reports of a serious disturbance at a property in Newcomen Road at around 9.20pm on Tuesday, October 6.

Ms Grass was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 46-year-old man was also taken to hospital with facial injuries.

Rigby is charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm in relation to the injured man.

He is also charged with three further separate alleged offences of assault by beating, racially-aggravated public order offence and assault on an emergency worker.

Rigby currently remains in police custody.

Ms Grass’s family have been informed of the developments and continue to be supported by specially-trained officers.
