I refer to John Roadknight’s letter in last week’s Gazette, ‘Restriction will swell afflictions’.

I start by saying, a difficult situation such as this is not helped by being so party political.

Matters have been progressing all the while and I’m quietly optimistic of a positive outcome before too long.

Devon County Council has, over recent weeks, been trying to solve this challenge holistically, so as to benefit all of Devon’s care workers and first responders, whom have similar issues.

 Early last week, interim arrangements were made for Tim to continue his valuable work without interruption. Thereby allowing time to resolve this important issue.

 The county council has been working hard towards a lasting solution, which will, I hope, help as many of those affected as possible.
