A jar left outside ended up becoming home to a newt and now an existing community of newts is sought, so it can be released.

Stuart Nuttall, editor of South Hams Newspapers, found the little amphibian in a jar that had been left outside for recycling and wants to find a good place to release it.

The newt, probably a female common newt, will need rehoming as soon as possible, so if you have a population of newts in your garden or somewhere you know, let us know so we can get this little guy back to where it should be.
