A charity quiz is being held in Thurlestone for the charity, End Polio Now.
The charity uses donations to obtain vaccines, transport and materials needed in a fight against polio.
The charity and its partners are close to eradicating the disease, but help is still needed. To end polio, the charity are aiming to stop the transmission of wild poliovirus in the three remaining polio-endemic countries: Afghanistan, Nigeria and Pakistan.
Since 1988, there has been a worldwide reduction in polio cases of 99.9 per cent. However, last year there were 14 reported cases in Afghanistan and eight in Pakistan.
The quiz will take place in the parish hall at 7.30pm on Thursday, February 22. Teams of up to six can enter at £7.50 per person. The payment can be made on the night where there will also be a licensed bar and light refreshments and a raffle.
