KINGSBRIDGE Town Bowling Club held a Spanish Evening at West Charleton village hall, with Spanish food and Spanish music on Saturday, May 21.

The event was organised by the club’s social organiser, Sue Allen, and aided by club members who cooked a two-course Spanish meal.

Entertainment was provided by Paul Woodcock from Modbury Melodies playing Spanish guitar, along with his two of his pupils, Alfred Smith and Georgina Mackrodt.

Paul was then joined by his wife, Jo for a singalong of many well-known tunes.

The night was considered a great success, raising more than £1,000 for club funds. This was their second event of the season, the club also celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday in April.

In 2017, the club will celebrate their 100th season, and they are hoping to organise similar events to mark the club’s centenary.

Kingsbridge Town Bowling Club meet at 6pm on Wednesdays, at Eastern Backway by Duncombe Park.

Everyone is made welcome, and only friendly matches are played - they don’t take things too seriously!
