The mother of a vulnerable person who went missing recently has spoken out to thank all those who helped bring her home safely.
The mother, who wanted to remain anonymous to protect her daughter’s identity, said she started to get worried when she hadn’t received her normal ‘good night’ and ‘good morning’ calls.
She said alarm bells started ringing when her daughter, who has learning difficulties, hadn’t contacted her, and calls to her friends gave her no leads.
“I went to the police station in Kingsbridge”, she said, “but they’re not open anymore, but I called 101 from the phone on the front of the building and the police were brilliant.
“Within 15 minutes, there was a police officer at my address, I gave them a picture of my daughter and they put out a search for her.
“I just wanted to thank everyone who helped find her. The Seven Stars offered their CCTV to see if she was on there, she was seen at a bus stop and people on the bus came forward and gave the police information.”It turns out her daughter had gone to visit a friend in Totnes, and a police officer was waiting at the bus stop when she got back to Kingsbridge and walked her home.
She added: “We knew where she was within an hour, and within three hours she was back with me. Thank you to everyone who helped.”
