Salcombe RNLI have helped locate a missing person, a drifting dingy and an upturned vessel in the last two weeks.

On Wednesday, June 7, the Salcombe all-weather lifeboat, Baltic Exchange III, was launched at 7.10pm to assist local police officers looking for a vulnerable missing person.

The Baltic Exchange proceeded to Bolt Head area, where the missing person was last seen, as searched along the coast.

After a short search, the crew located the person near Starehole Bay. A police unit arrived to confirm their identity and the ALB returned to Salcombe.

On Monday, June 5, at 7.45pm, the inshore lifeboat, Joan Bate, was launched to reports of a dingy drifting out to see off Limebury Point. The vessel, which had suffered major storm damage, was located, and it was confirmed that there was no one on board.

On Monday, May 29, both Salcombe lifeboats were launched in thick fog, just after 7am, after reports of a upturned dingy four miles south east of Prawle Point.

With the aid of radar the vessel was located with no persons on-board. After lengthy conversation with the Coastguard it was decided that no life was in danger. The ILB then attached a tow and towed the vessel into Salcombe harbour.
