The RNLI and the Coastguard helicopter were scrambled to a fishing vessel taking on water in the early hours of Tuesday.

Salcombe RNLI received a Mayday call from The Nemo at around 4am on Tuesday, July 10, to say they were taking on water.

The lifeboat and Coastguard helicopter was scrambled but when the RNLI arrived on scene, the Mayday was lowered to a Pan-Pan, and The Nemo was able to return to Salcombe under its own steam.

It was shadowed back to the harbour by Salcombe RNLI and will undergo investigations to work out why it was taking on water.
