Police are searching for a missing 58-year-old woman who disappeared in the South Hams.

Officers are concerned for the welfare of Peta Harper, from Kingsbridge, and are appealing for any information that could help find her.

She was last seen in the Hope Cove area on Monday afternoon.

Her disappearance sparked a major rescue operation across air, sea and land.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokeswoman said: “Police are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of a 58-year-old woman from Kingsbridge.

“Peta Harper was reported missing from the Hope Cove/Bolt Tail area at around 1.20pm on Monday, November 11.

“Emergency services including police, coastguard and the RNLI have conducted a number of land and water searches of the area, which have since been stood down.

"The investigation team are continuing to make further inquiries.

“Peta is described as a white female, around 5ft 4in tall and of average build. She has dyed blonde, collar-length curly hair with grown-out roots.

“Anyone who sees Peta, or knows of her whereabouts, is asked to contact police on 999 quoting log 358 of 11/11/19.”
