A man shot by armed police in the South Hams earlier this week has been released from hospital.

The man was hit with a baton round fired by an armed police officer in Barnfield Walk, near Trebble Park, Kingsbridge, in the early hours of Thursday morning. Police were contacted just after midnight to a report concerning the mans welfare.Police at the time said: "Officers attended the scene and an Attenuating Energy Projectile [commonly known as a plastic bullet] was discharged."A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene."Police said today: "At this time, no further action will be taken in relation to this matter."
