A shocked dog walker snapped a picture of a ‘crocodile' in a swamp in the South Hams.

Police investi-gators were called to Loddiswell, near Kingsbridge, at 9am on Wednesday, August 21, to croco-deal with the rogue reptile.

Officers caiman went after they discovered that the prehistoric perp was in fact a plastic plaything.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokeswoman said: “Police were notified at around 9am on Wednesday to reports of what looked like a crocodile in a swamp in Loddiswell, Kingsbridge.

“Officers attended the scene and it later transpired that this was a plastic crocodile.”

Jaw-some pictures of the artificial alligator were shared on the Spotted Kingsbridge Facebook page.

Police dispatcher RDO Lisa Burnett tweeted about the croc-ing discovery: “Interesting log of the day.

“A report of a crocodile in the swamp in Loddiswell.

“A picture of it has been sent to the control room and a local spotted page.

“Believed to be plastic crocodile head.

“Officers will have a look and make it snappy.”
