THE First Responder, who was the first on scene when a man suffered a heart attack in Kingsbridge on Friday, is sought by his family.
The Devon Air Ambulance helicopter landed on the slipway of the Quay car park to assist Brian Spencer, 77, who had suffered a ‘massive heart attack’, according to his brother David, outside Wills Marine on Friday morning.
Brian, of Higher Warren Road, who was an active member of the Kingsbridge Walk and Talk group, died as he reached Derriford Hospital. He had been on his way to Quayside Leisure Centre to go swimming.
David Spencer said: ‘People knock the ambulance but they were fantastic. A first responder was walking nearby and was the first on scene, followed by an ambulance and the Devon Air Ambulance.
‘The attempts at resuscitation was almost immediate and they worked on him intensively, unfortunately he never recovered.
