Young people from Kingsbridge’s Youth Leisure Night are putting their legs together for a fundraising group marathon.

They are working together to raise money to hire an inflatable obstacle course for a fun session. All the young people voted for which inflatable they wanted, and are now working towards being able to buy it.

They will be each aiming to walk or run about a kilometre to make a marathon total of 42.195 kilometres.

“We will be using Quayside’s treadmills to achieve this goal as part of our normal Youth Leisure Night activities”, said youth worker Julie Hinder. “Young people will also be able to swim, play football, racquetball, table tennis or just chill out with their friends during the session.”

The marathon launch will be on Friday, November 3, from 7.30pm at Quayside Sports Centre in Kingsbridge. The fundraiser will continue each Friday evening in November during Youth Leisure Night to enable all young people to participate.

Sponsorship will be collected through a JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/julie-hinder

Youth Leisure Night is open to all young people from Year 8 up to the age of 19. It is a partnership project staffed by youth workers from the Family Advice Support Team CIC and hosted by Fusion Lifestyles.
