Santander have donated £4,200 to the 16-24 Kingsbridge Work Club, securing another year’s running costs.

The work club is part of local youth charity Spiritulized. The charity does not receive funding from the government or the lottery, so all donations are a significant help.

Over the last five years, the work club has helped more than 150 local young people. The work club has grown from initially providing help to 16–24 year olds with CVs, job applications and apprenticeships; through to accessing grants, securing accredited training externally and internally and much more.

Helping to build on skills, improve confidence and career prospects, work club participants have taken part in different voluntary roles including peer mentoring, fundraising for other charities and making a promotional film for the work club, which can be seen online.

In November, the work club will host the third Youth and Business Achievement Awards, to recognise, celebrate and motivate local 16 to 24 year olds and local businesses and professionals to build a successful community.

Working closely with local businesses, education providers, Careers South West and the Chamber of Commerce ensures positive outcomes for all.
