Hope Cove Life Boat has received a donation from the Thurlestone Hotel after its Christmas Fair and Spa Evening.

The event was organised by the hotel’s sales and marketing coordinator, Kate Newell. She said: “As a leading hotel we pride ourselves in supporting all areas of the local community. The fair and spa evening not only gave local residents a chance to enjoy themselves, but it offered local suppliers and traders a chance to promote their wares.

“Additionally, it helped to raise funds for our local ’Hope Cove Life Boat’ and we were delighted to donate a little over £600.”

Receiving the donation, chair of Hope Cove Life Boat, Graham Phillips, was full of “admiration and thanks” for Kate’s efforts. He said: “Thurlestone Hotel has been a great supporter of our boat from the outset, and this very generous gift is much appreciated. We never cease to be amazed by the tremendous local support we receive.

“At the moment, we are in the process of carrying out much needed maintenance to the boat, following a busy Summer, and putting younger crew through essential training programmes, and this money will be put toward these tasks.”

Thurlestone Hotel thanked the trade stands that took part in the fair: Olivia Joy Jones, Salcombe Scents, Rudds Wellies, Love Lammie, South West 15, Threads Boutique, Turning Point, Jennifer Cooper Designs, Stacey Hardwick, Sharpham Wines, Mill Valley Bakery, Devon Beach Company, a touch of Sophie, Penny’s hearts, Mill Valley Bakery, Pretty Local, Jennie Beardsley Preserves and Simon Hawkins Photography.
