Another yellow weather warning is in place for the South Hams today, with the Met Office warning heavy showers and thunderstorms could bring disruption, especially to transport.
The weather service advised that there is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus; it also said delays to train services are possible.
Damage to buildings and structures from lightning strikes and some short term loss of power is possible, the service also said in its briefing for the yellow warning, which is in place from 11am to 8pm today.
A spokesperson for the Met Office added: "Some places will miss the heavier rain, but other locations could see around 20 mm within an hour and perhaps 30 to 40 mm in around three hours, sufficient to cause issues on the roads."
