ORGANISERS are breathing a sigh of relief after hard work and careful preparation paid off with another successful year at Loddiswell Show.
Crowds flocked to the village on Saturday to enjoy entertainment like the dog and duck show, Wizzbang clowns, classic bikes and vintage tractors, a well stocked tea tent and much more.
The day also had a sporty flavour, with a demonstration on Loddiswell’s brand new tennis courts, as well as the village fun run over about a mile.
The whole event was very well attended, with warm and dry weather if not glorious sunshine.
Show secretary Sue Sweeney said: ’It was really good, and everything seemed to go smoothly. The duck herding was very popular, and the dog show judged by two of the nurses from South Moor Vets was really popular.
’In the tent we had a fantastic display from Loddiswell Knit and Natter group, to raise money for the air ambulance. The theme was under the sea, so there was an island with a palm tree, and all different types of fish underneath.
’The tea tent was something to behold, all homemade, and manned by half the village.
’I thought the field looked really smart this year, with our new gazebos bought with money donated by our district councillors Rufus Gilbert and Ian Bramble.’
