MUSICIANS from Kingsbridge Community College have been impressing local audiences with their high standards of performance.

The college’s Jazz Collective return was greatly anticipated when they performed at the eighth annual Malborough Monster Mash last month. Money raised at the festival is donated to the local community to help children develop their musical talent, and also to charities such as St Luke’s Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Students Bryn Pratt (saxophone), Maisy Knights (keyboard), Dan Sinclair (guitar), Tom Ellis (bass), Luke Adams (guitar) and Jack Wibberly (drums), along with Mr P Johnson (trumpet), gave performances of a very high standard, and several members of the audience commented on how professionally they performed and presented themselves.

As part of the college’s Spring Programme, singers from the Year 12 BTEC music course presented an evening of vocal music on Wednesday, May 11 to a packed audience.

The programme showcases BTEC concerts from Year 12 and 13 music students with a run of evening and lunchtime performances.

The evening included a range of vocal music, including opera, jazz, pop and musical theatre, and the audience enjoyed summer themed drinks and ice-cream.

The students organised and ran the event and their performances were truly inspiring and of a very high standard.
