Sharon Thrippleton is planning to throw herself out of a plane soon to raise money for Torbay Neonatal Ward.
Sharon, who lives in Kingsbridge, is taking part in a skydive at Dunkeswell Airfield, Exeter, in order to raise money for the Special Care Baby unit at Torbay Hospital. “I was lucky enough to give birth to a healthy baby, Jasmine, two and a half years ago. She was born late, but OK, some people aren’t that lucky and I want to give something back.”
Sharon came up with the idea of a skydive to mark her 40th birthday in August, saying she wanted to do “something different” and that she usually raises money for Cancer Research through Race For Life.
Sharon has asked us to keep the date of her jump a secret, as she doesn’t want her mum to find out and worry, but it will take place at some point in the next week.
Sharon doesn’t have an online donation page, but you can contact her to make a donation by emailing her at: [email protected] and you can find out more about the SCBU at Torbay on their website: www.torbayandsouthdevon.nhs.uk/services/maternity-services/special-care-baby-unit/
