IF you have ever wanted to chat to an artist about their work, Harbour House in Kingsbridge have two in residence this month.
Wendy Chudley and Cherry Lyons will be working in Harbour House between Thursday, January 14 and Saturday 23, and visitors can call in at anytime between 10am and 4pm on those days to talk to them about techniques and processes.
A spokesman for Harbour House said Wendy and Cherry were ‘delighted’ at the invitation to be Artists in Residence and set about planning how to convert the gallery into their working studio with areas for painting, pastels and printmaking.
They continued: ‘If you’ve ever looked at framed paintings in an art gallery and wondered how the artist has developed an idea from initial sketches through the trial-and-error of exploring a range of media and techniques, this is an excellent opportunity to find out more with these most approachable of artists.’
Cherry said: ‘We have been asked on many occasions if we teach. So, during our residency, we will also be celebrating the launch of our new workshop programme, appealing to the novice as well as the more experienced, which will be held in the Harbour House Studio in 2016.’
In Warning: Artists at Work Cherry Lyons and Wendy Chudley will be Artists in Residence in the art gallery at Harbour House from Thursday 14 until Saturday, January 23. Opening times will be 10am–4pm daily. Admission is free.
