A woman is looking for witnesses after her husband was a victim of a hit-and-run accident.

She said her husband was driving a Land Rover and towing a box trailer, travelling up Stentiford Hill on the way out of Kingsbridge when a scaffolding lorry clipped the side of the car and scraped all down the side and damaged the brand new trailer.

Lesley Ferguson said: “He said he saw the lorry coming quite quickly towards him, and then at the last moment it suddenly changed direction and slammed into the side of him, the wingmirror exploded so it was lucky the window was closed.”

She said that the lorry was unmarked, without a company written on it, but would like to track down the driver as her husband’s car insurance will have to pay for thousands of pounds of damage, he will have to pay the £500 excess and lose his no claims discount.

She suspects the lorry will have dark grey paint down one side.
