SALTSTONE Caring’s monthly bazaar will showcase a slightly new look for 2016, after having a successful year raising money for the local charity.
Lisa Butcher, co-ordinator said: ‘We’ve been delighted with the support for this event. We have regular customers who visit every month, and we also have visitors over the holidays which really boosts our numbers.
‘Our 2016 bazaar will have a slightly new look, with a focus on bric-a-brac, children’s toys, tea, even more delicious cakes, a quality monthly raffle and jewellery. We will no longer be selling clothing or books.’
Saltstone Caring is a community support service based in Kingsbridge, offering companionship, shopping, carer support and other useful services to the elderly and isolated in Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Chillington and the surrounding rural areas.
Due to increased demand, they currently have a growing waiting list of clients who need help. If you can spare an hour or two a week or fortnight, to sit and chat with someone, or provide more practical help, please do get in touch with the Saltstone Caring team to find out more on 01548 854588 - just a couple of hours a week can make a huge difference to someone’s wellbeing.
If anyone has any bric-a-brac or children’s toys in good condition, Saltstone Caring would be delighted to receive donations at their office in Quay House, next to the library. The office is open between 9am and 1pm.
Saltstone Caring’s next bazaar will take place at Kingsbridge Library on Thursday, January 21, 2016 between 10am and 12.30pm.
