KINGSBRIDGE funeral director Sally Boon is celebrating two decades of serving local people in their lowest moments.

Sally started working for JD Andrews and Son, Fore Street, on January 27, 1997, and was manager in five years. She was an active member of Kingsbridge Lions Club, taking on the roles of president, secretary and treasurer and was involved in many fundraising activities until the club closed several years ago due to dwindling membership.

Sally is now an active member of the local gym and the Kingsbridge and District Camera Club.

A spokesperson for JD Andrews and Son said: ‘Sally, along with staff from JD Andrews and Son, provide an important service to the community not only by dealing the bereaved but also in local fundraising events.

‘Two charities are supported in their window displays through out the year and they also sponsor a player at the local rugby club. Sally along with all the staff at JD Andrews & Son are always looking at ways to help with other charities and community activities.’

JD Andrews and Son provides a 24-hour service and is part of Dignity, a British company that has funeral directors in towns and cities all across the UK.
