SOUTH West Water are inviting residents and businesses in Salcombe to learn more about a flood alleviation scheme starting later this month.

Two drop-in sessions are being held on Wednesday, November 11: from 8.30am to 9.30am at Sailor V Refreshments in Fore Street and between 2pm and 7pm at Salcombe Rugby Ground on Camperdown Road.

The £1.5 million project will take eight months to complete and includes the construction of new surface water drains in the town and other improvements.

Work will take place in Robinsons Row from Monday, November 16 to Friday, December 18. Further work will start in the town on Monday, January 4 next year.

South West Water’s project manager Andy Young said: ‘The main purpose of the project is to alleviate flooding to roads and properties and pollution to the estuary.’
