SALCOMBE Estuary Rowing Club have entered a team called ’’Salcombe Oarsome’’ into the Devon Air Ambulance Trust’s Dragon Boat Festival which is taking place on Sunday, September 25 between 10am and 4pm at Exeter Quay.
The DAAT provide an invaluable service to everyone who lives in or visits our beautiful county. And they are entirely reliant on charitable donations to operate the two helicopters in service.
Salcombe Estuary Rowing Club would like to recognise the vital role the DAAT plays in maintaining a 24-hour search and rescue service across Devon by taking part in the Dragon Boat Festival.
To enter, the crew of 16 plus a drummer are required to raise minimum sponsorship of £1,200 between them.
They have already held fundraising events including a ‘paddle down the Avon’ on Tuesday, June 26 and plan a cream tea afternoon in Churchstow on Saturday, July 30.
