ON Wednesday, August 3, Salcombe Art Club launched their ‘draw the regatta’ children’s competition, which proved to be a great success with more than 50 entries.

Submissions and judging was held on the day, as well as the announcement of the winners: Kitty Adams and Posy Bryans (up to 7 years category) and Hattie Dewdney and Lottie Adams (8-12 years category).

The club now aim to make the competition a permanent event.

As in other years, the club made a donation to two local charities and this was announced during an evening event held on the day, where members of the club were invited to attend.

The club chose South Hams Hospital and the Triangle Centre as their ’good causes’ to receive a donation of £150 each.

Hospital matron Natalie Herring was at the evening to receive the cheque from club chairman Diana Miller, along with Liz Powell representing the Triangle Centre.

Salcombe Art Club holds an annual exhibition of paintings and 3D work from Easter to September, with classes being held from October to March.
