Interesting to see the Leave voice prominent in the Letters column, resurrecting the old ‘Project Fear’ mantra.
There is no Project Fear – it’s becoming Project Stark Reality as more companies pull out of the UK and we are denied access to organisations like Euratom and medical research facilities.
I’m still struggling to see how anyone can leave a club and expect to continue to have
access to the same facilities as the remaining members. It’s
like cancelling your Netflix subscription but still expecting to stream their movies on your device.
We are currently in with
lots of opt-outs (the Euro, Schengen) and we seem to want to be out with lots of opt-ins. I’m no fan of the EU as an institution – it’s flawed, but what else can we expect from them? It’s not “bullying”. We can’t just cherry-pick the bits we like.
For example, the tip of this iceberg of insanity is the “iconic blue passport” (by the way, it was our government that chose the burgundy passport, it wasn’t “foisted on us” by the EU).
Having given the contract to produce the passports to a French company based in Belgium and Holland, without a trade deal with the EU we won’t be able to bring them back into the UK. You couldn’t make it up.
Anyway, don’t take my word for it. Have a look at www.youtube.com/watch?v=
Sx4AF-3Rd44. Three men who know what they’re talking about as opposed to the unicorn-inhabited fantasy Narnia promised by the Leave campaign.
