A preschool have taken to the beach to help reduce the amount of plastic washed up on our beaches.
The pupils at Merry-Go-Round Preschool, Stokenham have been learning about where they live and how to look after the environment.
With manager, Alison Pope, the children discussed the beach and how messy it can get. So they decided to head down to Slapton Sands and clean it.
The children caught the bus down to Slapton with their buckets which they managed to fill with plastic, straws, string and even a shoe.
“I am so proud of how the children took it upon themselves to clean up the beach, they showed amazing enthusiasm and determination to collect as much as they could” commented Alison.
“I have asked the children each time they visit the beach to collect the same amount of rubbish as their age, three or four.
“Every little piece removed, helps make a difference.”
