Salcombe Town Council have have received a grant for £20,000 from South Hams District Council’s Community Reinvestment Fund.

The money will be used to provide street lighting from Beadon Cross to the new development next to Batson Cross.

The lighting was deemed necessary as many children use the footpath along Batson Creek on their way to school.

The footpath was installed last year, also with money from the Community Reinvestment Fund, and is now bedded in and well used.

SHDC’s Community Reinvestment Fund supports communities where significant housing development has taken place.
