Had I voted, I would have voted for Brexit for one simple reason – it should get rid of 50 per cent of our politicians at a stroke.
However, politicians don’t vote to give up prestige or power – just as turkeys don’t vote for Christmas.
What was the first thing that had to be agreed? How much and who would pay our MEPs’ pensions. I fear politicians make so much unnecessary noise, they are usually deaf and only hear praise. There is no conspiracy on either side, just self-serving incompetence.
Seeking only a 50-50 vote rather than at least a 60-40 for such a major change does not only seem incompetent, but has proved impractical.
Who knows what is good or bad for the country? Those who claim to know must be incredibly astute or are not considering the country, just themselves. Who can be trusted?
