KINGBRIDGE police will be recruiting cadets in September, open to anyone aged between 13 and 16.

Under leader Paul O’Dwyer, cadets are trained, taught about the law and police procedures such as arresting someone, taking them into custody, what the police do when someone goes missing and radio procedure.

As a cadet, you will be expected to take part in drills and inspections, as well as outdoor activities.

The activites you may be able to take part in after your training include test purchasing alcohol and cigarettes, crime prevention, and letter drops.

There are some activities that the cadets will not be able to take part in, including directing traffic, going out on patrol or being used to replace members of staff. If you would like more information, contact PCSO Paul O’Dwyer by email: [email protected] or by visiting the Devon and Cornwall Police website: www.devon-cornwall.police.uk/youth/police-cadets/.
