A local man has raised almost £2,500 for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust through his plans for a tandem parachute jump to celebrate his 70th birthday.

Peter Lewis from Salcombe, who is actively involved in the town’s Neighbourhood Planning Development Group, will be undertaking his ‘descent’ at Dunkeswell Airfield near Honiton on Wednesday, April 12, weather permitting.

Peter’s friend, Shirley Turner will also be undertaking a tandem jump from the same plane, but not strapped to Peter.

Peter said: “My skydive is in aid of Devon Air Ambulance Trust and any contribution would be greatly appreciated.

“Fingers crossed that the weather will be perfect on the day and even more fingers crossed that all will go well with both our skydives!

“Hopefully you might be able to attend the skydive but thank you so much if you are able to contribute to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust - a charity that is totally reliant upon voluntary contributions.”
