A free monthly series directed at gathering men will be holding its third workshop on Monday night - this time focusing on women.
MANdate Kingsbridge is running its third workshop in a series of ‘An Idiot’s Guide to…’ following September’s ‘An Idiot’s Guide to Cooking’, and October’s ‘An Idiots Guide to DIY’.
Organiser Paul Leather describes the upcoming workshop as a “deliberately contentious title” but that it’s a rare chance for men to get together to talk, share, laugh and maybe learn a thing or two.
Paul said: “It should probably be called ‘An Idiots Guide to Being a Better Man’ as we’ll be exploring what it’s like to be a man in 2018 and how we might try to make a better job of it.”
Paul also moved to reassure that men of all ages are welcome, there will be refreshments and you don’t need to bring anything apart from a good sense of humour.
Paul and a group of other men created the term ‘MANdate’, which he explains is “a gathering of men who occasionally meet up for a beer or a walk or a chat or all three”.
“We enjoy a laugh, a joke and helping people out. It’s not easy for men to share things so we felt all men would benefit from getting together to learn some new skills or just to gain confidence.
“We thought we could all do with some more fun in a relaxing environment, so we devised the MANdate.”
All workshops take place at 7.30pm at Kingsbridge Family Church on Baptist Lane off Fore Street and are absolutely free. An Idiots Guide to Women will take place this Monday, November 12.
